Show Jumping Arena Etiquette
1 Enter the arena ASAP so you don't hold up the flow of the competition.
2. Salute and acknowlege the judge by eye contact and a nod of the head before the start of the round.
3. If retiring, raise your hand and look towards the judge.
4. A rider has the option to stop their round if they think an obstacle has been incorrectly rebuilt after a previous knockdown or to indicate unforeseen circumstances. The clock will be stopped and no penalty if the judge agrees. But if the rider chooses to continue the round then penalties occurred thereafter will stand.
5. A rider has the option to stop or continue their round if the bell is sounded to indicate an obstacle incorrectly built or to indicate unforeseen circumstances. If the rider chooses to continue the round then penalties occurred will stand.
6. When finished, leave the arena ASAP keeping out of the way of the timing gear and other competitors.
