Jake Hunter Finalist for Sports NSW Awards
Sports NSW has announced the finalists for the 20th NSW Sports Awards.
Equestrian NSW would like to congratulate Jake Hunter who is one of five finalists for the Young Athlete of the Year.
This is the 20th Anniversary of the Awards which has seen the largest field of nominees since its inception. Award Organsier Frances Campton AM said, "Nominations were of a very high calibre across the 16 categories making the job of the Selection Panel extremely difficult. The achievements and standards of the nominees in the selection period of 10 October 2013 to 30 November 2014 are incredible. Everyone is worthy of an award. Since we commenced the Awards 20 years ago I have never seen such a high standard field."
Jake is the only Equestrian athlete to be selected as a finalist and joins finalists from Athletics, Waterskiing and Surf Life Saving in his category.
Jake from the Hunter region of NSW represented Australia at the 2014 Youth Olympics in Nanjing, China where he won a bronze individual jumping medal.
The winner of each category will be announced at a gala dinner to be held at Curzon Hall in February.
