EOI NEW SOUTH WALES COUNTRY JUMPING CHAMPIONSHIPS

The New South Wales Country Jumping Championships are an event conducted for and on behalf of the Jumping NSW Committee. (JNSW) Organising Committees are invited to submit their expression of interest to conduct the event for 2022 by 1st January, 2022.
The JNSW committee will assess all submissions and will appoint the Organising Committee to run the 2022 State Country Jumping Championships.
The following guidelines have been formulated by the JNSW committee to assist Organising Committees (OC) in the conduct of the New South Wales Country Jumping Championships. Jumping New South Wales reserves the right to amend these rules at any time.
It is the responsibility of the Organising Committee to make sure all riders competing in the Title events are current financial members of Jumping NSW.  These guidelines must be read in conjunction with all relevant Equestrian Australia Rules and Regulations in force at the time of the New South Wales Country Jumping Championships.
 

CHAMPIONSHIP DIVISIONS

The Organising Committee is required to conduct Championships for the following divisions.

* Senior NSW Country Jumping Championship.
• Senior Title Minimum 1.40m
* Young Rider NSW Country Jumping Championship
• Young Rider Title 1.20m to 1.30m
* Junior NSW Country Jumping Championship.
• Junior Title 1.10m to 1.20m
* Amateur NSW Country Jumping Championship
• Amateur Rider Title maximum 1.20m
 

BRIEF SUMMARY OF CHAMPIONSHIP COMPETITION FORMAT

• The championship events must be run over 2 or 3 classes over two or three days.
One class to be a one round speed class and at least one class to be a jump off class.
• The pointscore system must be well advertised in the show schedule.

ELIGIBILITY FOR TITLES

All riders competing in the Title events must be current financial members of Jumping NSW. (This does not apply to
Interstate riders)
Junior Rider: A rider is considered a Junior Rider from the commencement of the year of their 12th birthday until the end
of the year of their 18th birthday.
Young Rider: A rider is considered a Young Rider from the commencement of the year of their 16th birthday until the
end of the year of their 21st birthday.
Senior Rider: A rider is considered a Senior Rider from the commencement of the year of their 18th birthday until the end.
A rider may compete in two consecutive divisions, i.e. Junior and Young Rider or Young Rider and Senior
Riders whose age allows them to compete in two divisions may do so but on different horses.
A rider may ride no more than three horses in any one division.
Amateur Rider: A rider is considered an Amateur from the commencement of the year of their 21st birthday.
(Also in line with National Amateur Rule).

STEWARDS

The OC of the Event must appoint at least one National or FEI Steward.
OC’s are responsible for the administration and organisation of the Steward/s. Any irregularities must be reported
immediately by the Steward to the President of the Ground Jury. The main function of the Steward is to be on duty at the
practice arena whenever it is in use.
During the whole Event in every part of the stables, exercise and schooling areas, collecting rings and all other areas under
the control of the OC, the Steward officiating at the Event shall:
Assist the Athletes in their reasonable training;
Where reasonably practical, intervene in time in order to prevent any abuse of the horse by riders, grooms, owners or any
other person;
Where reasonably practical, intervene in order to prevent any contravention of EA Regulations and Rules or of the common
principles of behaviour, fairness and accepted standard of sportsmanship;
Be familiar and assist with medication control rules and procedures if applicable. (Amended 1 Jan 2018)
One Steward should be on duty at the collecting ring whenever it is in use.
Any irregularities must be reported immediately by the Steward to the President of the Ground Jury.
The Steward must be a person experienced in equestrian sports, particularly in the Sport of the Event where appointed to
officiate. The name of the appointed Steward should be published in the schedule and in the programme of the Event.
Stewards are Event Officials.
The Steward must be from the list of EA National or FEI Stewards.

Arenas

The minimum size of the competition arena is 4,800 square metres, 80 metres by 60 metres.
The minimum size of the warm-up arena is 1,500 square metres 50 metres by 30 metres.
The Organising Committee and the Steward will determine the maximum number of horses allowed in the warm-up arena
at any one time.
Additional arena space for warming up on the flat should be provided.

Medication Control

Medication control maybe required. Sampling the winner of each championship division and one or two random samples
may be conducted in accordance with EA rules for medication control. An appropriate area for medication Control sampling
must be provided by the organising committee and approved by the technical delegate and veterinary officer.
The Organising Committee will pay for the swabbing fees but can put in a claim for reimbursement to JNSW post the
event.
